Luontotyöpäivä – Outdoor Office Day

The Finnish natural environment really pampers the body and mind. At the same time, a diverse environment offers a diverse toolkit for promoting work wellbeing and increasing work innovation. And all these benefits are available to everyone in the nearby nature.

Stimulating and creative environment

In nature, the mind literally wanders. This spontaneous wandering of the mind improves our ability to combine different things, i.e. to innovate. Many important figures in history, from scientists to artists and from politicians to inventors, have used this characteristic of nature in their search for new ideas and solutions to the problems at hand.

Being in nature also improves memory and concentration and improves the perceived quality of life. Moving in nature also reduces negative thoughts and increases positive thoughts. These are all things we would love to see more in Finnish work environment, and in life in general.

Versatile possibilities

In Finland, the possibilities for moving around and doing work in nature are almost limitless. There are easily accessible parks, lakeside trails with benches and stones, nearby forests with paths and fitness tracks, and larger nature areas like national parks, where moving around is also easy and the trails are well marked. In addition, we also have our blueberry and mushroom forests, summer cottages and various farm opportunities. There is no shortage of places. So only thing we need is the idea.
